Grading
UD uses a system of letter grades with plus and minus designators. For a University, College, Major, and/or Minor course requirement to count toward the degree, the course must be graded using the letter grade scale (also known as Standard Grading) unless the course required is only offered as Pass/Fail.
Only free elective courses may be taken as Pass/Fail and count toward graduation requirements. Students may take up to one Standard Grading course per semester as a Pass/Fail course.
The course instructor is the final authority on all grades for the course. If a student wants to dispute a grade, the student must go through the Grade Grievance process (see Grade Grievances section for more details).
